2008-2009

Blake Antropov Poniakosky
Hagmen Steen Bell
Tlusty Kulemin Stajan
Devereaux Moore Mayers

Kaberle Kubina
Finger Colaiacovo
Stralman Schenn/Kronwall

Toskala
Joseph

All lines provide solid defensive ability and awareness, not to mention a capability to apply offensive pressure. Roll 4 lines, all 4 lines can and should be counted on, the TOI should be higher for the top two lines, but the bottom two should be close. The D on paper is as solid a 6/7 unit as the Leafs have ever had, it will be fun watching these guys meet and hopefully surpass the Leafs D of 92-94.

What makes me worry the most, maybe even more so then Stajan’s poor face-off record and last seasons -11, is why Kulemin is not on the updated Leafs.com roster.
Is there another offer from the KHL?

Tlusty is bolded only because his age will keep him on a short leash, I know he can play a quick defensively sound game while scoring, but I wonder if he can remain physical for a full 82 game schedule, plus, he will have stern competition from Earl, Grabovski, Newbury, Williams and Hollweg.

10 years from now and hopefully 20, Stralman and Schenn will be paired together wearing the Blue and White. At this point I say run with it now and see if it can work, if it doesn’t we will know right away, only inexperience will stall this inevitability. That said Kronwall will be ready to go this season, and will win a spot on the big club.
